Now With a Character Sheet!


There's Glory in the Rip now has a character sheet!

I'm no real artist, but I can stumble my way around Inkscape. The goal was to try to fit as much as possible onto 1 side of a printed sheet of paper, which was surprisingly challenging considering how simple the game was intended to be. Turns out that when you have a bunch of (basically) feats AND narrative descriptions of character attributes,  you end up needing to use a lot of space just to give a person enough space to write things.

But hey, there's something!

Just to answer some possible confusions in advance:

  • The box in the upper left of each talent is for the talent's cost in shorthand (1B, 2RG, etc). I hope this is intuitive, but just in case.
  • The glory tracker has you filling in 3 circles or 1 circle (depending on the track), 1 per point of glory earned. The 3 small dice represent the 3 dice your action pool starts with.
  • Strikes are recorded by filling in the circles around the shield, note that there are 12 of them.
  • The area in the center of the Status indicator is for temporary effects (scene-long buffs, environmental disadvantages, that sort of thing).
  • The Charges section is meant to be used only when the RC tells you charges are relevant. Fill in a circle each time you lose a charge, kind of like taking strikes.

In a fuller game with a fancier sheet, I might have to bite the bullet and make a second page to give more space for artifacts and talents. I'll have to see how this one works in playtesting. I also tried to make the frequently changing stuff all on the right-hand side to suit a right-handed writer. If this game really takes off, there's likely an easy way to move some elements around to suit a left-handed writer as well.
